He is poor Netanyahu, but not a poor Israeli.

The Israeli government has said it will cancel all remaining tariffs on US imports in an obvious bid to ensure that President Trump is exempt from the new wave of taxation that is set to be announced Wednesday.

Israel and the US are two close allies Free Trade Agreement Since 1985, it has excluded most American products from Israeli tariffs. On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered the decision to remove all remaining tariffs as a move towards greater trade liberalization.

This is from Matthew Mapoke Big.On the eve of Trump’s tariff announcement, Israel says it will lift all US import obligations,’ New York TimesApril 2, 2025.

Poor Benjamin Netnayahu. He must have obviously thought that when Donald Trump said he wanted mutual tariffs, Donald Trump must have wanted mutual tariffs. What Netenyahu didn’t understand is that Trump doesn’t want mutual tariffs. Instead, he wants to impose high tariffs on products from most countries, regardless of the tariff policy of a particular country.

There teeth One bright spot. A zero tariff on all imports from the US is a good move to benefit most Israelis and slightly increase their actual GDP. It would be even better for most Israelis if Netanyahu cuts tariffs on all imports to zero.
