Closing some of the MT4 deals is not as obvious as it should have been.

So, in this tutorial we’ll show you exactly how to do that.

This process is not difficult. Once you know how it works, you can always get a partial profit from the transaction.

First, let’s take a look at why we want to do this.

Why traders make partial profits

The biggest reason traders are in close proximity early in their trading is to remove some of their profits from the table, while still allowing them to potentially acquire larger profits later on.

This gives you a great psychological boost and allows you to stick to the rest of your deal for a long time.

When trade is profitable, then it comes back and becomes a loss.

Many traders then go back to their next trade, leading to trading, revenge trading, or profit too early.

So, getting a partial profit can help you achieve a balance between earning profits and earning profits while you are making profits.

But it’s not a magic bullet.

Be sure to backtest your profitable methods before implementing them.

Now, let’s get to how to do that.

How to get a partial profit in MT4 trade

There are two ways to make a profit with MT4.

If you’re not sure what you’re doing, it’s highly recommended to do this with a demo account if you’ve never done it before, as it can ruin a good deal and lose money unnecessarily.

Obviously, for this to work, you need to have a trade open larger than the MetaTrader minimum lot size of 0.01.

There are two ways to close some of your transactions.

  • Double-click the trade entry line on the chart
  • Double-click Open Trade in the Orders window at the bottom of the screen

Order a change window on MT4

Change the following:

  • type: Change to market execution
  • volume: Enter the number of lots you want to close
  • Close button: If all settings are correct, click the yellow close button

that’s it!

You will now see that the order window at the bottom of the screen will reduce the size of your transaction.

Final thoughts

So here is how to close some of the MetaTrader 4 positions.

It really helps to remove some benefits from the table, yet still gives yourself the ability to capture big moves.

Again, practice doing this in your demo account first.

Also, backtest how to take partial benefits and make sure it actually gives you an advantage.
