Democrats erected Trump’s trade chief Jamieson Greer at a hearing in front of the House Road and Means Committee on Wednesday.

D-Calif. Rep. Judy Chu of the president made accusations during Greer’s questioning, with many Democrats expressing confusion about the president. Donald Trump’s goals It’s how quickly they are achieved.

The hearing said the Trump administration is negotiating a trade deal rather than retaliate with its own tariffs for demands to negotiate trade deals from more than 70 countries.

Greer and other Trump officials say trade imbalances with other countries and the lack of manufacturing in the US constitute a national emergency that must be addressed promptly and forcefully.

Wednesday’s hearing ended minutes before Trump issued a 90-day suspension on most tariffs, but raised China’s tariff levels to 125%. He said that countries that had not retaliated and instead called for trade consultations would enjoy a 90-day suspension and a 10% tariff level.
